Carolee McMullin of ADORNit
Whether it’s creating with fabric, paints or scrapbooks, Carolee McMullin of ADORNIt believes that crafting is all about building community. “It was in the painting classes I took when I moved to a small farm community that I met people who had the same passion and love for art that I did,” she says. “When women get together to sew or create a quilt or paint, they learn from each other and make friends.”

Coloring is just the latest aspect of McMullin’s business, which started in 1985. Her company’s first name was Country Tole and Craft and focused on decorative painting on wood and fabric. In 1995 she renamed the company Carolee’s Creations and designed paper and clip art for scrapbooking. In 2005 the company name became AdornIt. Its products include wood die cuts, precut appliqué pieces, full fabric collections and much more.
