Goals, Quilts & Getting Things Done
Week ending December 27, 2025
This past week was full of inspiration, planning, and practical creativity at Hen & Chicks Studio. From setting goals for 2026 to downloading new quilt patterns, choosing cozy fabrics, and finishing projects on the longarm, our customers were clearly in a making mood. Here’s a look at what everyone was loving most in the shop this week.

Top Download: 2026 Bingo Card & Chick Picks Inspiration
The most downloaded item this week was our Bingo Card, and it’s easy to see why. Everyone is excited to start thinking about their goals and the projects they want to complete in 2026. The Bingo Challenge is a fun, visual way to plan, stay motivated, and stay accountable throughout the year. It’s already sparking great conversations about what customers want to make, finish, and try next.

We also released a new issue of Chick Picks, our email newsletter filled with free downloadable quilt patterns. This issue inspired a lot of creativity, with customers downloading patterns and planning future projects. It was exciting to see so many quilters gathering ideas and building momentum heading into the new year. The favorite download was Brushstrokes!

Top Fat Quarter Bundle: Stitcher’s Flannel
With colder weather settling in, flannel is top of mind for many quilters. This week’s favorite fat quarter bundle was Stitcher’s Flannel, designed by Vicki McCarty for Riley Blake Designs. The (#3) bundle includes 10 fat quarters, each measuring 18 x 21 inches. There are two more bundles to choose from (#1) and (#2).

This collection offers a rich, cozy color palette featuring navy blues, olive greens, crimson reds, earthy browns, and versatile neutrals like creams, grays, and blacks. The prints include houndstooth, tonal plaids, bold stripes, small pin dots, and other classic designs that work beautifully for quilts, home décor, and cozy seasonal projects.

Top Quilt Kit: Sagewood Brightly Quilt Kit
The Sagewood Brightly Quilt Kit was the most popular quilt kit this week. This throw-size quilt features a dynamic arrangement of half-square triangles made with fabrics from the Sagewood collection by Moda Fabrics. The finished quilt measures 60 x 72 inches and makes a perfect cozy quilt for cooler days.

The kit includes all the fabric needed to make the quilt top and binding, along with the Brightly pattern by Cluck Cluck Sew. Backing fabric is purchased separately, allowing quilters to personalize the final look. This project is best suited for confident beginners who enjoy clear instructions and satisfying piecing.

Top Video Watched: Longarm Quilting for Getting Projects Done
The most-watched video this week featured Heidi on the longarm quilting machine, focusing on practical quilting and getting projects finished. During the live video, Heidi quilted fabric for a Holland bag that Virginia is making and available as a kit, sharing how simple quilting can prepare fabric perfectly for bag construction.

Goldie and Virginia have made more than 150 of these bags for donation projects, so they know the pattern inside and out. The Holland Pouch pattern from Center Street Quilts was highlighted for its clear, straightforward instructions that make the process smooth and successful.

On the longarm, two fat quarters were layered with Soft and Stable in between, basted, and quilted with simple wavy lines. Nothing complicated, just effective quilting that gets the job done. The video also showed how approachable longarm quilting can be through certification classes and hourly machine rental. It’s a great option for finishing projects efficiently without the commitment of owning a machine, and a perfect reminder to keep things simple, enjoy the process, and make something creative just for fun.
