Planning, Color & Spring Dreams: This Week’s Creative Highlights at Hen & Chicks Studio
Week ending January 10, 2026
The year is already off to a strong, creative start at Hen & Chicks Studio, and this past week was full of inspiration, planning, and fresh ideas. From hundreds of quilters downloading our 2026 Bingo card to cheerful fabric picks and a spring-ready quilt kit, it’s clear that creativity is front and center as we look ahead to the year ahead.

2026 Bingo Challenge: Planning with Purpose

Our most popular download this week was hands down the Stitch Your Goals: 2026 Bingo Challenge. Quilters are already filling in their cards, dreaming about projects they want to finish, techniques they want to try, and creative habits they want to build. Writing goals down makes them real, and Bingo adds a fun, flexible structure to keep creativity moving all year long. The deadline to upload your completed Bingo card is January 15, so now is the perfect time to sit down with a warm drink, fill in your squares, and officially join the fun. You’ll have until December 15, 2026, to complete your card, and prizes will be awarded after the deadline. All the details can be found at henandchicksstudio.com/bingo.

Plan your 2026 creative goals for your quilting projects and goals for getting projects done

Top Fat Quarter Bundle: Shine in Orange & Green

This week’s most loved fat quarter bundle was the Shine Orange and Green Fat Quarter Bundle from Sweetwater for Moda Fabrics. These cheerful prints are full of personality, featuring geometric shapes, hearts, birds, plaids, stripes, and playful words. With six coordinating fat quarters, this bundle is perfect for scrappy quilts, small projects, and adding a pop of happy color to your sewing room. It’s easy to see why this one stood out—it’s bright, uplifting, and full of creative potential.

Top Quilt Kit: First Blooms Mariposa

Spring is already on everyone’s mind, and the First Blooms Mariposa Quilt Kit was this week’s favorite. This radiant lap quilt finishes at 62½" x 72½" and features the beautiful First Blooms fabric collection from Riley Blake Designs. The kit includes all the fabric needed for the quilt top and binding, along with the Mariposa pattern by Anka’s Treasures in a 3x4 block setting with no sashing or borders. It’s a confident beginner-friendly project that feels fresh, happy, and perfect for welcoming warmer days ahead.

Top Video: All Things Lori Holt

Our most-watched video of the week was filled with love for Lori Holt and her signature vintage-inspired style. From quilt kits like Strawberry Tart and Prairie Winds to fat quarter bundles and charming accessories, this live was all about joyful color, thoughtful details, and quilts that feel both classic and fresh. We also talked about why setting creative goals matters and how the 2026 Bingo Challenge gives you permission to make progress at your own pace. If you love happy fabrics, cozy quilts, and a little encouragement to keep going, this video is well worth the watch.

As we move deeper into January, it’s exciting to see so many quilters planning ahead, choosing projects they love, and giving themselves space to create. Whether you’re filling out a Bingo card, pulling spring fabrics, or dreaming about your next quilt, we’re so glad to be part of your creative journey.
